While most Android users use the Google Play Store to download the apps they want, there are many other app stores, such as the Amazon App Store and Huawei App Gallery.

Of these, Aptoide is the only alternative third-party app store, and the Aptoide store is reportedly undergoing a major security breach.

According to ZDNet, a group of hackers have leaked information from more than 20 million Aptoide users in a hacker forum, and people who registered with Aptoide or who used it between July 21, 2016, and January 28, 2018, are facing this incident.

The leaked data includes the user's email address, hashed password, real name, registration date, IP address, information about the devices, and date of birth.

Responding to the incident, Aptoide said in a statement that they had begun investigating the incident and that 97% of the users were not affected because an account was not required to use Aptoide.

Of these, 32 million people do not store the password of those who have registered with Facebook or Google accounts, indicating that the user's hashed password contains only random characters.

However, about 8.8 million out of the 20 million users have an email address and their password is encrypted using the SHA-1 encryption algorithm.

It is possible to break this SHA-1 encryption, but it also takes a great deal of time to decrypt one of these passwords, so no password leak through this data breach, but your sensitive data has been leaked so guess the passwords They ask you to change your passwords as soon as possible.

Aptoide has confirmed that the user can temporarily register, login, disable reviews and comments until they feel safe and reset all passwords when they are activated.
