TikTok is developing a parental controls feature these days that allows parents to set limits on their children's accounts.

A new feature called "Family Pairing" allows parents to connect with their children's TikTok accounts, enabling restricted content mode and setting screen time limits.

The main reason for the introduction of this facility is that TikTok had to pay the Federal Trade Commission $ 5.7 million in February 2019 for violating the privacy laws of children by allowing users under 13 to register without parental permission.

TikTok has since made changes to comply with the law, and earlier this year, it introduced the "Family Safety Mode" to European countries.

To use this feature, parents need to scan the QR Code embedded in the Digital Wellbeing of the child's TikTok app and the ability to insert a passcode to prevent the child from changing certain settings.

This will then enable you to use the TikTok app to limit screen time, block direct messages, and block your ability to view unwanted content.

  • Screen Time Management

The TikTok app will show you the short videos created by the child, depending on the rest of the day.

  • Restricted Mode

This mode can block the display of inconsistent content and allows parents to set it through the Digital Wellbeing feature, even if Family Paring is not enabled.

  • Direct Messages

This allows you to block or block who can send messages to the account.

In addition to this new feature, TikTok has also decided to provide direct messages to all users under the age of 16 from 30 April.
